Our Amazing Talented Team
Katharine is an actor and improviser. She is a member of ‘The Wilsons’ one of the inaugural house teams at The Free Association, a co-founder of ‘The Ladies of FA County’ and a teacher at the school. She performs regularly with ‘Shoot from The Hip’ at Theatre Royal Stratford East and internationally she has appeared at The Magnet, UCB Chelsea & UCB East in NYC. As an actor, television credits include ‘Flack’, ‘Borderline’, ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ and ‘Grantchester’. She has performed in theatres nationwide and in London’s West End.
Katharine Bennett - Fox
Justin trained at London's Royal Central School of Speech & Drama and has been an actor, improviser and comedian for over 20 years, with a career spanning from mime to comedy car clown; from playing Johnny Cash in the West End to filming with Steven Spielberg; from running a London comedy club to teaching improv and being a long-standing player in the Olivier Award-winning “Showstopper, The Improvised Musical”. From his improv background, he has learned that being 'in the moment' is the best way to be able listen and respond most valuably in any situation. From his clown background he has learned that falling over may be funny, but it hurts if you do it wrong. From Spielberg, he leaned that it's best if you stand over there.
A seasoned improviser, Amy began her improv career well over a decade ago and has since trained and performed with Showstopper! The Improvised Musical. She is a co-founding member of award winning, West End hit comedy show, Austentatious and directs and performs with Bumper Blyton who are currently on UK Tour. Amy is a mezzo-soprano with a love of blues, jazz, folk and soul and regularly appears on the Musical Theatre circuit in London.
Amy Cooke Hodgson
Octavia trained at ArtsEd and works as an actor, writer and director. She has toured extensively with Butterfly Theatre playing roles such as Juliet in ‘Romeo and Juliet’, Helena in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and Gwendolen in ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’. She co-wrote and performed in Biting Block’s ‘Catching Up’ which enjoyed a successful Edinburgh Fringe and London run. Octavia makes comedy sketches with her company Yellow Stockings; her sketch ‘If Apps Existed 500 Years Ago’ was recently featured in the British Comedy Guide. She performs in a number of improv groups, improvising Shakespearean plays with Impromptu Shakespeare and musicals with Music Box and Multiverse.
James Irving studied at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He has performed leading roles both internationally and in London’s West End and acclaimed shows, Bumper Blyton; the Improvised Adventure and Impromptu Shakespeare. He also performs as a principal Baritone for Grim’s Dyke Opera. Stage credits include Flahooley at Sadler’s Wells and Fantasticks at the Jermyn Street Theatre London. As an improviser he can also seen be in musical improv groups Dreamweaver Quartet and The Concept. He also creates short surreal and absurdist plays with his twoprov and Podcast “James & I” and is a founding member of the group Classic Andy
Susan has been improvising for ten years and has performed with Showstopper! The Improvised Musical for the past seven on the West End, throughout the UK, Toronto, Edinburgh & beyond. She has an improv duo BEINGS & co-hosts an improvised podcast Hayley and Ruth:Two Stars with comedian Gemma Arrowsmith. Susan was a series regular in BAFTA winning CBBC sketch show Class Dismissed and was also a series regular in the CBBC spoof news show DNN, for whom she wrote and created her own characters. Theatre credits include: Peter Pan Goes Wrong (Mischief Theatre/West End), The Elephantom (National Theatre/West End), Bagpuss (Soho Theatre) to name a few.
Alice trained in Acting at ArtsEd. She originally trained as a Singer and Oboist and loves to bring her musical skills into her work. Alice has written sketch comedy as part of the Soho Theatre Young Company and writes with the sketch group ‘Sorry Mum!’. She also performs stand up comedy and has been involved in this years Funny Women Awards.
Alice Rose Parr
John performs regularly with ‘Scared Scriptless’, has a monthly show at the London Improv Theatre and takes part in the annual London 50 Hour Improvathon.
He regularly plays comic in both adult and family panto and is a core member of Oh Yes It Is! - The Improvised Pantomime! John is a stand up, MC and co-presents “Hits & Giggles” on Radio Essex.
He co-writes and performs Shakespeare For Breakfast and Giraffe Sketch Comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe. Theatre credits include; ”Garyenti” - Russell Kane’s Fakespeare at the RSC.
Liz has been performing and teaching improv around the world for the last decade, is co-Artistic Director of The Maydays and performs improvised live albums with The Concept. She trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and has worked on numerous live productions, with roles ranging from show-stopping divas to an actual pig! Liz has been a writer/performer in sketch (Newsrevue, The Treason Show), commercials (Barclaycard, More Than) and was a nominee for Best Female Performer Award with her solo musical comedy show, Toybox. She is the author of ‘Own it!’, to be published in September. Liz is also playing in Happily Never After and Bumper Blyton at this year’s Fringe
Maria Peters is a member of one of the UK’s top improv duos, Breaking & Entering, and creator of London’s popular Playground show. She writes for BBC Radio Comedy and is a regular on the improv podcast, Destination. She’s performed internationally at improvisation festivals across Europe and the United States. In 2017, Maria took her critically acclaimed solo debut show, The Science of Cringe, to Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performing to sell-out audiences. She was an original member of the improvised musical group, Music Box. “Left me helpless with laughter” – Fringe Guru.
Daniel Nils Roberts is a comedian, actor and improviser. As a member of comedy sensations Austentatious he has starred in BBC Radio 4’s first improvised show in 5 years, sold out numerous major UK tours, and conquered London’s glittering West End.
He is also a founder of cult favourites Racing Minds with whom he has masterminded a hit podcast with over half a million SoundCloud followers and recorded an original series for Audible. His wildly inventive solo comedy shows have gathered rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe and garnered two nominations for ‘Best Comedy’ at Perth Fringe World Australia.
Daniel Nils Roberts
Sedona is an actor and circus performer, specialising in trapeze and contortion. Having trained at LAMDA where she fell in love with improv, she went on to train at Circomedia, gaining a degree in circus and physical theatre. Sedona has since been performing her own cabaret acts across London and the rest of the UK and is incredibly excited to be part of this production!
Katy Schutte is one of the UK's original long form improvisers. She performs and teaches all over the world, is head-teach for Hoopla and Co-Artistic Director for The Maydays in the UK. Katy has been one of The Maydays since 2004, she is half of legendary sci-fi improv duo Project2 and author of The Improviser's Way: A Longform Workbook, which is published by Nick Hern Books. A Funny Women finalist and both nominee and winner of the Brighton Festival Fringe Best Comedy Show award, Katy also starred in BAFTA winning online educational series History Bombs. Katy performs with Knightmare Live and makes her own work including Schutte the Unromantic and acclaimed semi-immersive folk horror play Let's Summon Demons
Rhiannon performs regularly with award-winning ensemble The Maydays, Dreamweaver Quartet, Bumper Blyton the Improvised Adventure and The Concept. She also writes and performs character comedy, and took both her solo shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe three years running. Rhiannon has trained in improvisation at UCB in New York, iO and Annoyance Theatres in Chicago and in sketch and musicals at the PIT Theatre, NYC. She has also studied under many other UK luminaries including Dylan Emery and Adam Meggido (Showstoppers). As a Mayday, she performed as a guest with acclaimed show Whirled News Tonight at iO Chicago, and has performed on many international stages, from New York to Barcelona.
Duncan Walsh Atkins (musical supervisor and keyboards) has been musical director of Showstopper The Improvised Musical since 2009. He coaches musical theatre-based improvisation in classes and workshops around the UK and abroad. Other theatre credits include the musicals ‘Burlesque’, ‘The Tailor-Made Man’, ‘Half a Sixpence’, ‘The Blues Brothers Party’, ‘Round The Horne’, ‘Flanders & Swann’. He has also written and recorded music for many radio & TV shows, including BBC2’s ‘Fast & Loose’ and the ‘Now Show’.
Duncan Walsh Atkins
Jordan trained in Composition at The Royal Academy of Music, and works as a Composer, Musical Director and Improviser. MD Credits include Olivier Award Winning Showstopper: The Improvised Musical, and Olivier Nominated Mischeif Movie Night (UK Tour). His original musicals have been staged across the country (most recently at the Tristan Bates, Waterloo Vaults and the Kings Head Theatre) and he has been composer/sound designer on a variety of plays and performance art (incl. The Southwark Playhouse, The Harlow Playhouse, The Pleasance, and The Landor Theatre). His most recent musical (P.S. I'm a Terrible Person) was shortlisted for the Charlie Hartill Award 2019 before a workshop in Chichester, October 2019.
Simon Warner is a world-renowned Stage Hypnotist who has hypnotised over 5,000 people all around the world from London to Las Vegas, the Caribbean and beyond…!
With over 20 years of worldwide entertainment experience and 11 years as a professional Comedy Stage Hypnotist, Simon brings his wealth of knowledge, skills, and sense of humour to create an entirely new, innovative and mesmerising hypnotic entertainment show. Simon has trained extensively in Improv with the Showstoppers, Hoopla and The Free Association.
